According to the National Weather Service; Mother Nature was been"wreaking havoc" across the United States during the past few days. My heart goes out to people whose property has been turned into debris by tornadoes and floods. I also mourn with those who have lost loved ones in these disasters.
We have been getting plenty of wind in Southeast Idaho, although nothing like a tornado or hurricane. Tuesday it was reported we had sustained winds of 45 miles per hour with gusts as high as 62 mph. Power lines and trees went down. Shingles and tramplines flew. Most of the fields had just been planted so there was plenty of dirt to form dust clouds that shut down Interstate 15 and several other highways.
Here at our house we "hunkered down" and enjoyed the circus caused outside our window as the birds went to work emptying out my bird feeder of a new supply of Wild Delight Nut and Berry Mix. We are thankful today that the wind has calmed down to the ususal 25 mph. If it ever stops everyone in town falls down. :-D
Thanks to the Doobie Brothers for the sound track.

LOL, that was great to watch! Those birds are very acrobatic ... ;-)
We had crazy winds here today and no power, but as far as I know no one was hurt. That's when it matters.
Hi Leenie -glad you've not had to deal with the extreme wild weather that others have experienced in the U.S in the past couple of days. The wind however, does seem crazy and I loved your video clip - was not unlike my week's teaching at a wild school this week, where teachers hurried in and out of lessons and hung on for dear life!
OMG that was a hoot, I watched it three times, twice to watch the birds smiling the entire time, then the third to watch the trees in the background. Those birds are persistent little guys when it comes to eating that yummy nut and berry mix. I actually love the smell of that mix...have thought about eating it myself :-)
Oh, Leenie, that was great! The birds don't give up, even in the wind. (I love the Doobies and China Grove.)
Yeah, I was sad to hear, too, of storm-related deaths yesterday in Missouri. Stuff can be replaced, but no people.
I hope the weather simmers down soon in your neck of the woods. We aren't asking for much here in Iowa.....just some warmth and sunshine for a change!
Enjoyed that, thanks
