HOME REMEDY FOR CABIN FEVER

Drive up the hill.

(If you encounter a snowplow, do not attempt to pass it, even if it is going slow. Probably should not take pictures either.)

Go to your favorite cross-country ski location. Put on skis.

Follow the ski track to the river.

Watch the swans and ducks for a while.

Laugh at the young swans feeding

in concert

with a duck as counterpoint.

Go over the river and through the woods.

Return to the parking lot, enjoy.

  2. what a perfect remedy for cabin fever! we've got below zero temps, and it has been a challenge fighting cabin fever here.

  3. Almost, just almost makes me want to head outside into the nippy air. Although we still don't have any snow, just nippy-ness

  6. Oh, man, oh, man!! I know people complain about the cold, but I would not mind swopping the weather here (hot, muggy, windy) for just a few days in real snow... and skiing! Oh, my! (PS I took my first swim of the year yesterday at our local beach. Well, swim is not really the right word. I stand for about half an hour at knee-depth, getting up the courage, then I quickly wade in to thigh-high, shriek, plunge down to cover my shoulders, shriek again, and then stumble out. Not exactly the world's bravest bunny. Yep, maybe I must forget about the skiing part of my fantasy above.

  7. Yes and yes! It was cold here today and with wind chill but i couldn't help myself. Scarf and hat and the bits and I walked and walked...straight out of town...came back a couple hours later. Can't let winter keep you indoors. It is gorgeous.

I hope you're holidays were full of love. I don't say thank you enough to you - for your insights and your comments. You always let me know someone is listening.

Much love in the new year!

  8. Oh this looks like fun! COLD but fun! You know how I love that fluffy stuff but I've never experienced it like that.

Right now I'm inclined to stay in and even endure a bit of cabin fever but that's only 'cause I'd rather not have to go back to work... yurgh! I'm sure it'll be fine once I'm out there though :)

  12. Looks like a fun outing. When you live in a cold climate, might as well learn to enjoy the snowy trails. Pretty photos of the swans.
