SUNNY DAY AT COLTER BAY

I've been working for days on a painting for a client.  Although I don't often do custom
work, this was to be of one of my favorite subjects.

Colter Bay on Jackson Lake in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming.
The painting is on a full sheet of watercolor paper, which is 22x30 inches.

I like to take photos of my work on the floor of my studio.  The light there is usually pretty good.

To get the whole painting in the picture I had to stand on a step stool and then lean out,
hold my camera over the painting and shoot without reference.  A lot of the
shots missed the mark and looked like this.

The painting includes the family in their boat "The Green Minnow."

This one was both a challenge and a pleasure to paint.
