i can relate to that...having come upon forks & spoons...and even a knife or two in the road! if i had something to carry it in, i might pick it up. but i'd for sure move it off to the shoulder where it wouldn't get run over any more.
poor spoon. maybe it'll find another spoon...and they can get to spooning!
...(it just occurred to me after hitting 'publish'...if that spoon finds a fork rather than a spoon...maybe they'll get to...uh, never mind...forking?!)...
I would leave it. It looks like the spoons my husband uses to dig ice cream out of the carton, rather than the three ice cream scoops in the next drawer.
I'd pick it up and wonder about its story? How did it get there? Was it dropped accidentally? Was it thrown away? Where did it come from? Lost during a house move? Did a child borrow it from the kitchen to play with and then abandon it when called home for dinner? Is it forgotten or is someone wondering where spoon #6 is now? Did it live with a nice family and get polished every Saturday?
In that nursery rhyme Hey Diddle Diddle, the cat and the fiddle, was it the dish that ran away with the spoon? Looks like the sad result of that short-lived relationship to me.
I've been known to take a fork in the road but never a spoon.
ReplyDeleteI think you have to ask yourself the question: WWBD?
ReplyDeleteWhat Would Buddha Do?
Recycle
esbboston: Recycle was probably a good choice, I couldn't kill it. It was already dead.
ReplyDeleteI'd wish it good luck. it was probably looking for Dirty Sock and Painted Stick (Characters from "Skinny Legs and All" by Tom Robbins)
ReplyDeleteLeave it there for the next observant photographer, or that person walking around looking for a spoon to eat their yogurt. Don't laugh been there:) B
ReplyDeleteButtons: Someday someone will figure out how to include spoon with those single serving yogurt cups. They'll get rich.
ReplyDeleteLeave it too
ReplyDeletebetter than a fork --less thinking required......
Storm here not doing anything much yet!

ReplyDeleteYou obviously couldn't take the fork in the road. LOL

ReplyDeletebiodegradable...I'd let it be.
ReplyDeleteI would pick it up and dispose of it properly ..so someone would not get it in their tire...but I am weird like that:)
ReplyDeleteI was trying to think of something witty involvong a fork - but it's too early in the morning!!
ReplyDeleteYou make laugh! I would have taken it-literally of course and added it to my collection of metal from the road.
ReplyDeleteThe trash can, I suppose!
