On the shady side of our house my rose garden looks like this:
Still over twelve inches of snow. But on the sunny south side---
GOLD!
Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

well, that looks mighty optomistic! Um, our dafodils are BLOOMING!!!sorry but not really sorry , just saying that so that you will think I am sorry about our glorious weather this year- like having too much pie- sorry ( but not)
ReplyDeleteLOVE, LS
youve got plenty to spare. send me some snow~!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the quote - and for your sake, let's hope those new shoots don't get covered up again.
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! I'm going to have to wander into my garden with the camera tomorrow and see if anything's coming up here!

ReplyDeleteThat is amazing - one side of the house with snow all over the place, the other side with daffodil shoots coming out of the ground! Still seeing is believing?
Do you need any rain? Refuses to cease here in "sunny Brisbane", where there is NO sun to be seen and hasn't been seen for days! Just constant RAIN! However, it is raining all over the state and causing chaos and flooding, but in the long run, there will be a lot of very happy farmers.
Cheers

Some one else told me their tulips were sprouting. That wouldn't be me, I only grow low maintenance things, like grass. Loved the poem and photos.
