Our schools have been back for several weeks (Scottish schools have different term times to English ones). Summer officially ended yesterday - it's a little bit darker in the mornings, and a lot darker earlier in the evenings .... roll on next spring!!
There is such a shift of season, isn't there? It always makes me nostalgic for the return of school - the new clothes, shoes, the brand new pens and pencils...the untouched year unfurling...
Every year my husband and I look at each other and say, "Yay! We have no one going back to school!!" Is that going to wear off at some point? On the other hand, it was one of the few things I looked forward to about fall...
This time of year always made me so sad- school beginning- ick. I loved having kids around all the time.If we had had a summer I may be more welcoming to autumn but that is not the case. I want to stab it!
Oh yes the first of September always makes me nervous of what is ahead and missing what is behind. Let's hope the winter is better than the summer. I like the turtle. B
You got a tomato, ours are still green. School starts here the day after Labor Day. I loved school the third time I went back when I was 40 something..I could have stayed there forever so I do kinda miss not going to school too:)
I like these. The students on the sign look very smart-as if they have got briefcases. I can relate to the last one!
ReplyDeleteGreat signs..definitely perfect for the season
ReplyDeleteLOL! wow. prepping for winter...

I'm consumed with jealousy when I look at that tomato. Mine didn't survive the heat and drought.
