A SWEET GIFT

Part two of my personal opinion blog.

We all need dreams and hopes.

“Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.” Langston Hughes

But we also learn, early on, that not everyone can be number one.

“To go through life with an air of expectation, an attitude of, “you owe me,” is to walk in unsafe territory, to pursue a path that leads to deep disappointment, emptiness, and loneliness.” Robert L. Millet

“Both abundance and lack (of abundance) exist simultaneously in our lives, as parallel realities. It is always our conscious choice which secret garden we will tend…when we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that is present---

love, health, family,

friends, work,

joys of nature and

personal pursuits that bring us happiness,
--the wasteland of illusion falls away and we experience heaven on earth.” Sarah Ban Breathnach

It is a sweet gift just to be alive. Life can be better when we focus less on ourselves, work to serve others and just be grateful. Gratitude gladdens the heart and refocuses the mind on what is important.
And now I will get off my soapbox. Thanks to the kind comments on my previous blog.

I see. I do. I have a friend who argues this. But I have to tell myself, just because you don't have it now or aren't something yet, doesn't mean you have to give up or settle. So there is a line, right, in between the two, that we have to accept to be happy.

Great Attitude!

In and ever changing current, appreciating the moment is how we find our peace and our pleasure. And now is when we plant the seeds that may one day blossom. Peace.

Your blog today should have been titled "How to be happy" because I totally agree with what you say in it.

Amen! I couldn't agree more...

LIFE what a trip! I think we tend to get bogged down when we start taking it too seriously...seriously!

Thank you for the wonderful and wise thoughts, Leenie. Especially, I will ponder the abundance and lack of abundance existing side by side. How good to have eyes to see that.

You know Leenie, driving to work I thought,we have been given so much on this beautiful planet. It is so ungrateful to abuse this. We should be making every tiny corner of it prettier every day, to do otherwise is just insulting.I like your thoughtful attitude and priorities.

Hi Leenie!
I'm back from my travels.
Words of wisdom today.
We are always happier looking to others happiness than to our own.
A super post.
