OUTTAKES

For the first time in years everyone in our immediate family was in one place---grandparents all the way down to the baby born in March.  Rather than go through the hassle and expense of a professional family portrait, my camera was set up on a tripod, the crowd of twenty-seven was gathered on the lawn (a major achievement in itself) and the shutter was tripped by remote.  After a couple of dozen shots the outcome was digitally preserved for posterity and the animals were released into the wild.

The final product will be a job for Super Photoshop.  Since no one was behind the camera to direct attention there were some interesting results.  Two young men had a new face for every click of the camera.

And they weren't the only ones having fun.

The whole thing was strangely familiar.

One of the reasons Bill Watterson’s Calvin and Hobbes is brilliant, is because it is so real.

Cute, Leenie. Outtakes are always the BEST pictures of all... Glad you did have all of the family together. That's rare these days.
Hugs,
Betsy

I'd much rather have those fun photos than a stiff formal portrait with everyone wearing a false smile!!
I've just left a comment for Anairam saying how lucky she is to have your wonderful paintings!

Blade is ALWAYS making those faces. One day I printed it off and framed it for him to see how stupid he looked while everyone else was smileing. Worked for him, he doesn't 'always' do it.

Perfect! And so true about why Calvin and Hobbes is brilliant... love the outtakes.

How wonderful to have the whole family together in the same place - rare and special times.

Back in the day I just had my Nicon..then waiting to develop. These are great pictures and prefer this to what was nearly always stressed (the professional).
