ZOMBIES CAN DANCE

When I went for a walk early this morning there was a thin layer
of snow just covering the icy streets.  The sand trucks were out
putting down a layer of grit to add traction to the intersections.

Walking is really tricky in these conditions.
You never know when you're going to take a step and suddenly go flying.

Even the neighbor's cat was walking carefully.

The campus zombies on their way to class looked like they were dancing on marbles.
I would have laughed at them but I was too busy trying to keep my own feet under me.
I made it home safely unless you count the two steps I took through the ice
in a gutter which resulted in cold wet feet.

Maybe the zombies were just doing a snow dance.

Oh Ick- this does not warm the cockles of my heart. ( what ever cockles are, they are not warmed!) Glad the snow has found you- you have better gear for it.

Yes, what the heck? Cockles--aren't they little sea shells like mussels? Why would we have them in our heart and why do they need to be warmed? Language is so WEIRD.

Cockles have a heart shaped shell, which may explain the idiom. I have no other explanation to offer...
And snow here too! Just enough to be annoying. Happy winter-at-last, Leenie!

My plan to survive a zombie outbreak, is to head up north where it's really snowy and icy. But I guess I should get some snowshoes first, then.

So that's what a cockle is! I did wonder.

It's been raining all night and melting our snow away! Nooooooo! (soggy poop garden)

P.S. Did you write that on the truck? Is it your truck? ;)

CarriBoo: Not my writing not my truck. I drive a Subaru Impreza with four knobby snow tires.

Hooray for snow.

I like to think it keeps the Riff-Raff out, if not the zombies.

Hilarious! We're thinking snow here in Tulsa, but so far no good. Sixty degrees. Harumph.

Wonder if this awaits me back in Mpls? I've gone to Florida for a few days, and I gotta tell ya, it's pretty sweet to be out of the line of fire!

Zombies snow dancing - that's an awesome image, Leenie. Yes, it can be treacherous walking when the conditions are like that.
