FARM AND RANCH SHOPPING

We may not have a lot of choices when it comes to restaurants in our town,
but when I go shopping for supplies for my bird feeder or garden seeds
I like to go to one of the farm and ranch stores.

but they have tough equipment for building fences, shearing sheep,
castrating calves, shoeing horses...

All the gear and tack any pony owner would need
from bits and saddles to bridles and lariats.

We're talking about REAL cowboys

who wear Stetsons and Justins,

...flat or roll brim to go with their long sleeved plaid shirts.

Not those flashy decorated hats...

...worn by the tourist dudes in Jackson Hole.

To real ranchers, cattlemen and farmers---
blue jeans are an essential, not a fashion statement.

We live in farm country and I LOVE shopping at the feed stores. It's been years since I had a horse, but I still love looking at all the bits and bridles and the colorful halters. So true about the jeans. It's amazing how they've thrived and survived in the mainstream, isn't it?

can't beat a REAL cowboy in levis! MMMM MMMM!
I am plenty interested in that cow castrater. How does that work, the hangy things get lopped off? I think that I could use of of those- gravity is not my friend...

What a fantastic store - I would love a day to just wander round there. We have nothing remotely like that here in the UK.

I love them too! Kind of amazing how many articles of clothing I have in my wardrobe from just such a place. I feel more at home there than at the mall.

For a minute, I thought you might be at Tractor Supply, but the aisle of jeans made me think otherwise. I can wander forever in my TS---mostly on the feed/animal supply side. Actual tractor supplies don't interest me. :)
