GRAY FACES

It was early morning and I was walking alone in the gardens on campus.  The low angle of pale light and lengthened shadows underscored details and shapes in the stonework.

I got that feeling I was being watched.
I thought I saw a Spooky Gray Face.

I started seeing gray faces everywhere.
“I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti.”

“We all go a little mad sometimes.”

 “They’re us.  We’re them and they’re us.”

“They’re all going to laugh at you!”

“Oh, Yes, there will be blood!”

“Listen to them, the children of the night.
What sweet music they make.”

“When there’s no room in Hell, the dead will walk the Earth.”

I hurried away from the gray faces.
Then I heard a rustling behind me I turned and saw yet ANOTHER gray face.

For some reason this one didn’t seem so scary.

“Hi, I’m Chucky, wanna play?”

UM...where did I stash that Holy Hand Grenade?

Hhhahahahahahahahahhaa! You're brilliant. And you even got a Carrie reference in there, too. (Sometimes my daughter reminds me of Chucky, very frightening). That looks like a gorgeous-ly spooky place to visit.

"Be afraid. Be very afraid." Have you seen that killer rabbit in Monty Python's Search for the Holy Grail"?

Of all those movies, Chucky was the creepiest. Something about dolls coming alive....

The stones are really pretty. We don't have anything in our little town as lovely. The last little guy is perfect...makes me think of the family that lives at our upper end.

What a great (and scary!) walk. I sadly recognised only the Silence of the Lambs quote!

What is it about statues that makes me afraid to be near them in the dark.
