BRIDGES

W.T. Pooh said, "Sometimes, if you stand on the bottom rail of a bridge and lean over to watch the river slipping slowly away beneath you, you will suddenly know everything there is to be known."

Is this like enlightenment and chi and stuff?  Or does it help to be a bear of very little brain?  I mean, I have lot of fluff between my ears, but  to, "suddenly know everything there is to be known"?

Try this on some bridges and all it does is scare the Pooh out of you.

That is too funny! I know that feeling too, from actually walking over a bridge a train goes over up high above a river, the bridge itself is made of steel and has holes everywhere you can see through it the entire time you walk it. And with the rivers movement roaring past; yeah it is scary.

I love that last picture you took. I really like the shadow of the tree in the water, nice job.

Laura: The last photo is off Deception Pass bridge on Whidbey Island, WA. It's not a tree. That is a shadow of the bridge itself.

This made me smile. Although once, years ago, I stood in such a position with a friend and she did say that looking at that water going under the bridge as it had done for hundreds of years and would do for hundreds to come, she thought it was a good place to stand to get things really in proportion.

I just Poohed!Heights frighten me a little bit because i always have the urge to leap! Water under the bridge- life- all that it is... there are those pesky snags and water rats that bump through on occasion, get stuck and back up the flow, cause a flood somewhere and kill the hopeful little growing things there. So, yeah, life is like standing on the bridge, being the rushing water below, being the bridge itself and being POOH.

Hi, I wandered in from Bush Babes place.
If it's okay, I'll wander around a bit in your site.
I love bridges, but I love heights too. Often, they are found together for my delight.

Very funny! Heights scare the pooh out of me. It's not that I'm afraid of them, I'm afraid of falling once I'm up there.
