DETERMINATION

“The only difference between a rut and a grave is in their dimensions.”
Ellen Glasgow

Bad news:  I’m getting bored with going out for exercise walks by myself.

Good news:  I’ve been invited to go walking with some ladies in my neighborhood.

BN:  They are all mostly grandmothers.

GN:  They are all in good health.

BN:  They are all mostly athletes.

GN:  They are going hiking in the mountains tomorrow.

BN:  I’ve been told I’ll need snowshoes.

GN:  I can rent snowshoes overnight for ten dollars.

BN:  I have no idea how to use snowshoes.

GN:  I can rent them today and practice.

BN:  I am an incompetent klutz.

GN:  If I survive I can go with them to a great sale at the Eddy Bauer store.

BN: I probably won’t survive.

GN: I am determined to give this a try.

BN:  Determination is the feeling you get just before you do something incredibly stupid.

GN:  Bad decisions make good stories.

So sorry to see there's an actual need for showshoes somewhere in the world, and it's where you are! But I'm surprised you're not already an accomplished show-shoer. You'll master it immediately, as you do everything...If you end up loving the ladies and being highly entertained, great blog post ensues. If you end up not loving them and hating showshoes even more, great blog post ensues. And good shopping in either case. Have fun!

Oh I am so excited. Do you not remember my experience with snow shoes? I did not thought I could do it but I soon found out how much I loved it. It is truly an addicting sport. You will be sore but just take your time. I am so excited wish I was going with you. I can't wait to read about it. Have fun. B

I love the balance of good and bad news. ISn't that how all adventures start out...for good or ill? I recall using the things once with my mom. We didn't go to the mountains and it seems like I went snowshoeing since I wasn't coordinated enough to ski with my sisters. Needless to say, I hear you.

Good News - We get to experience the pain and humiliations of another blogger from the comfy confines of our computer. Yay!

Sooooo, how was your hike?? I've heard snowshoeing is very difficult to master and a big workout to boot.
