SEIZING THE MOMENT--THOMAS STYLE

Today started out dreary and overcast.
This evening it is cloudy, windy and cold.

But for one--

 brief--

 shining moment--

 the sun came out.

Thomas knows how to relish good fortune.

WAX UP THE SKIS! AND SOME SUNSHINE FROM DOWNUNDER

This is what greeted me when I opened the blinds in the kitchen this morning.
More snow. A bit too early for my taste.  But snowboarders and skiers are celebrating.

Icicles can start to feel like prison bars.

Even with all-wheel drive the trip to work was slip and slide.
(I really HATE going down the street sideways.)

But sunshine arrived in the mailbox!
One of my favorite bloggers--
has published her second calendar.  I ordered mine before it was sold out.
It was like summer in a package!  Thanks, BB!  I love the photos
and the quotes and the colors and the horses and...
Anyway, I'm not waiting until January to hang it up.   I need to know that
SOMEWHERE THE SUN IS SHINING RIGHT NOW.

TURN OFF WEATHER!

This is what our neighbor's roof looks like.
They don't have a white roof.  Just guess what all that white stuff is.

This is our back yard right now---Monday afternoon November 8.

This is a computer screen shot of the radar map over our area from The Weather Channel.
All that blue stuff is a big snow storm.  The pink is sleet and the green is rain.
I keep clicking on the Turn Off Weather button but nothing happens. >:(

PATTING MYSELF ON THE BACK

I shot this photo during a sunrise last summer to illustrate a poem I wrote.
The sun was streaking through a morning thunderstorm
retreating over the rolling green wheat fields east of our home.

When our library called for photos to be displayed in the new addition to the building,
I entered the wheat field photo along with several others in the contest.

I got a call inviting me and DH to a v.i.p. open house Saturday.
The photos above are the First Second and Third Place overall winners.

Like Zenyatta, I had to settle for second place.  But I'm okay with that.
